Brown-Schroeder & Co. now offers our construction expertise and experience to the nation's top insurance carriers as a quality insurance repair contractor. With experience as a former property adjuster, one of our firm's managing partners combines eight years of property claims adjusting experience with over 35 years of custom construction. This combination has benefited many of the major carriers and their policyholders as the estimating, communication and policy coverage questions are easily managed to provide cost-effective repair techniques, often saving time and money on the project. Because of the integrity, experience and honesty of our firm, we are often asked to provide comparison bids, expert witness and construction advice for large and complex claims, and have even been asked to train adjusters in the use of the Xactimate estimating software system.
As an insurance repair contractor, we understand the intricacies of homeowner insurance policies, the need to effectively communicate with the policyholder and the company representative, and the need to provide detailed, documented estimates and repair costs. Our approach to insurance repairs mirrors the mission of our custom home division; to provide quality workmanship with attention to every detail.
Brown-Schroeder & Co. offers the capability to service you with expertise and experience, regardless of the size of your project. From losses below the deductible amount to the largest residential or commercial property loss, we can provide the quality each policyholder deserves. With qualified project managers and master carpenters, Brown-Schroeder & Co. provides the attention to cost, like-kind and quality the insurance company requires.
Our firm was asked to provide a comparison bid for an apartment complex that suffered covered fire loss. The deductible amount totaled $100,000. A rival company wrote a repair bid for $190,000 and told the policyholder they would waive the deductible. Being aware of our reputation for honesty and reliability, the client requested a comparison bid. As our bid was less than half the original bid and well under the deductible ceiling, we were awarded the project.
At any given time, we have a project list of smaller projects ranging from $1,500 to $50,000, which include any known covered loss. Repairs are based on damage at time of estimate and are effectively communicated to both the policyholder and the representative prior to any change in scope.
